The residential side of St Kilda.
← All suburb guidesHybrid Real Estate leases and manages fully-furnished, move-in ready homes in St Kilda East, Victoria 3183. It is the quieter sibling of St Kilda proper: tree-lined streets, parks, and a strong local cafe culture, with the beach and Chapel Street both a short ride away. Homes come styled and equipped, so you can arrive with a suitcase and be settled the same night.
This is where people land when they want to sleep somewhere quiet but still be five minutes from St Kilda and Balaclava. The streets are residential and leafy, and the noise of Fitzroy Street feels a long way off, right up until you want it, at which point it is one tram.
Alma Park is the big leafy one, with a playground and tennis courts, and it is the reason a lot of people pick this pocket. Alma Village adds a small run of local shops and cafes, and Carlisle Street covers the day-to-day: supermarkets, bakeries, kosher delis and somewhere to sit with a coffee.
Balaclava station is walkable from a lot of the suburb, and the 3, 3a, 16 and 67 trams all run through it. There is an Aldi on Inkerman Street toward St Kilda Road. For a suburb this quiet, you are rarely more than a few minutes from a way out of it.

A few homes from our furnished portfolio. Styling and layout vary by property.
St Kilda East furnished rentals are mostly interwar and art deco apartment blocks, generously sized one and two bedroom layouts with separate kitchens and original details. Furnished houses and larger townhouses appear less often but do come up around Alma Road and Hotham Street. Off street parking is more common here than in St Kilda.
Balaclava station on the Sandringham line is a short walk from many streets, roughly fourteen minutes to Flinders Street. The 3 and 3a run along Carlisle Street and Balaclava Road, the 67 runs along St Kilda Road and Chapel Street, and the 16 heads along Carlisle Street toward Kew. Local buses cover Orrong Road and Hotham Street. St Kilda beach is a short tram or bike ride.

It is a separate suburb bordering St Kilda and Balaclava, sharing the 3183 postcode with Balaclava. The character is quieter and more residential than central St Kilda, and the beach and Acland Street are a short tram or bike ride away.
Very residential and community focused. Carlisle Street is the main activity strip, with cafes, supermarkets, bakeries and delis. Away from it the streets are leafy and quiet, which is the whole appeal.
Multiple tram routes run through the suburb, the 3, 16 and 67, and Balaclava station is walkable from many streets. It is well connected despite feeling quiet.
Carlisle Street covers day-to-day essentials, and there is an Aldi on Inkerman Street closer to St Kilda Road. For more variety, Balaclava Village, Chapel Street and Prahran are all within ten to fifteen minutes.
