Hybrid Real Estate leases and manages fully-furnished, move-in ready homes in Windsor, Victoria 3181. It is the southern, more bohemian end of the Chapel Street corridor: vintage stores, specialty coffee, small bars and the Astor Theatre on the corner. Homes come styled and equipped, so you can arrive with a suitcase and be settled the same night.

Why renters choose Windsor

Chapel Street, the good end

The southern stretch is vintage stores, independent boutiques and specialty coffee rather than designer retail. Chapel Street Bazaar is a multi-dealer vintage arcade worth an afternoon on its own, and Dukes at 169 does the coffee. Lucky Coq handles the late night pizza problem.

The Astor Theatre

A 1936 Art Deco cinema on the corner of Chapel Street and Dandenong Road, and one of the last single screen cinemas of its kind in Australia. It runs classics, cult films and independents. If you are new to Melbourne, it is the sort of place that makes a suburb feel like somewhere rather than anywhere.

Character without the price tag

Windsor gives you the Chapel Street corridor, a station on the Sandringham line and a genuine independent food scene, without paying South Yarra rates two stops north. That trade is the main reason people choose it.

What a furnished rental in Windsor looks like

Furnished rentals in Windsor lean toward one and two bedroom apartments in older walk-up blocks, with period terraces and converted warehouses on the streets running off Chapel Street. Stock here tends to have more character and less uniformity than the newer buildings further north.

Getting around

Windsor station is on the Sandringham line with direct access to Flinders Street. The 78 tram runs along Chapel Street through Prahran and into the city, and the 79 covers Chapel Street and Dandenong Road. St Kilda is ten to fifteen minutes by tram, or a flat and pleasant ride down through Prahran.

Common questions

How is Windsor different from South Yarra or Prahran?

Windsor is the southern, more relaxed end of the Chapel Street corridor. Less designer retail, more vintage shops, independent cafes and casual bars. It is younger and more bohemian in feel, a genuinely different character to the northern end.

What is the Astor Theatre?

A heritage Art Deco cinema on the corner of Chapel Street and Dandenong Road, built in 1936. It screens classic, independent and cult films, and it is one of the last single screen cinemas of its kind in Australia. Worth a visit in your first month.

How far is it to St Kilda?

About ten to fifteen minutes by tram along Chapel Street, or a pleasant bike ride down through Prahran. The whole route is flat.

Is it easy to get to the city?

Yes. Windsor station is on the Sandringham line with direct access to Flinders Street, and the 78 tram along Chapel Street also runs into the CBD. Two independent options.

Do you have furnished rentals in Windsor right now?

Availability changes weekly. The leasing team can tell you what is available and what is coming up before it is advertised. Email leasing@hybridrealestate.com.au or call (03) 9070 8429.

What does fully furnished mean for a Windsor property?

Furniture, whitegoods, kitchenware, linen and soft furnishings are all included and styled as a set. Most homes are internet ready. You bring personal belongings, nothing else.
